The primary focus of Beloit Youth Hockey is skater development through the instruction of fundamental skills, conceptual development, sportsmanship, and character building. It is the expectation that all players learn and develop respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and off-ice officials. All players are treated equally within BYHA.
BYHA Coaching Director & Assistant Coaching Director
The primary responsibility of BYHA’s Coaching Director & Assistant Coaching Director is to serve as the administrative link to USA Hockey and its Coaching Education Program (CEP). In their role(s), the associations Directors organize and manage CEP requirements, assist the association in the development of a well-trained coaching staff, promote parent education and provide clear goals and objectives for player skill development. The Coaching Director & Assistant Coaching Director will also be the chairs of the BYHA Tryout & Evaluation Committee.
Tryout/Evaluation & Coaches Committee
The tryout/evaluation committee is comprised of all age-specific coaches with significant coaching and playing experience. The tryout committee (evaluators) will consist of individuals approved by the BYHA BOD. The Coaching Director will brief all evaluators on their duties and guidelines before tryouts begin. The tryout/evaluation committee along with head coaches will recommend players for team placement. The BYHA BOD will strive for the fairest and most knowledgeable team of evaluators as possible for this committee. (For tryout format and evaluation sheets please see Tryout Link on left menu)

Please fill out the coaching interest form and turn into the Club President or Coaching Director by May 1st, 2017 in person or by mail to BYHA PO Box 1252 Beloit, WI 53512.
All coaches are required to participate in the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP). Please see link below for requirements.
Please feel free to contact the Club President or Coaching Director with any questions regarding becoming a youth hockey coach or the requirements of USA Hockey. We welcome any help!
COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT
BYHA BOD has implemented a Coaches Code of Conduct. These rules must be strictly adhered to and all coaches must acknowledge by signing the form prior to the start of the hockey season. Please see form on website.
A student application form must be completed by the coaching candidate and submitted to the Coaching Director or Assistant Director. Upon completion of the form the Coaching Director will give final approval. At this time, the student coaches are welcome to help with practices or games based on the discretion of the head coach. The number of student coaches on the ice for practices will also be at the discretion of the head coach. All student coaches must possess a positive attitude the willingness to help instruct young hockey players. This is a good opportunity to give back to BYHA and your community.
