About Us

Welcome

Welcome to the Beloit Youth Hockey Association (BYHA), home of the Beloit Jr. Knights, Jr. Fury, and Raptors. We want to thank you for looking into our program and would like to make the registration and navigation process as simple as possible so you can quickly embrace watching the development of your child on the ice. Let's get started!

Below are some definitions by age group so that you can determine the correct level to register your child. We are a volunteer association and, to keep dues affordable, we require all of our families to take part in volunteer and concession hours, which are listed below. In addition to that, we run fundraisers throughout the season with the recommended candy and/or raffle ticket sales per level. All raffle and candy requirements are per skater. All volunteer and concession hours are based and completed on the child at the highest level. For example, if you have one child at the Bantam (U14) level and one at the Squirt (U12) level, you would only have to complete the volunteer and concession hours of the child at the higher level, not both. Please note that there is a $100 nonrefundable tryout fee per skater at the travel levels (U10-U14) which will be applied toward your season dues should your child make a team (not applicable if the season has already started).

USA Hockey TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE DAYS

The USA Hockey "Try Hockey for Free Days" are not scheduled yet but will be posted on this site. If you would like to pre-register your child for this event, you can sign up by going to https://tryhockeyforfree.com/ and enter the zip code 53511 and choose the Beloit location. Pre-registration is not necessary, but preferred so that we can properly staff the event.

**Skates and helmets provided by BYHA. Winter or hockey gloves provided by parents.

TRAVEL TEAMS

Skaters are placed on teams based on age and skill level. Each season, teams are allocated approximately 30 to 40 one-hour practices depending on age level. The anticipated number of games per season generally equals 12 home league games, 12 reciprocal league games, 6 non-league games, in addition to 2 to 3 tournaments, for a total of approximately 25-40 games. Each team may qualify and play in the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) state tournament if each team has no more than two out of district players. Please see the registration page to determine if a skater is in or out of district.
