Getting Started
Did you know that in 2018/2019 hockey season over 25,000 kids tried youth hockey for the very first time?
The Beloit Youth Hockey Association is just one of thousands of youth hockey associations across the country that team up with USA Hockey to provide days where your child can try hockey for free.
In the 2023/2024 hockey season, BYHA will host Try Hockey for Free (USA Hockey events) on Saturday, November 4, 2023 & February 24, 2024 at Edwards Ice Arena.
Register today at HERE. Pre-registration is recommended.
During these events, please bring a bike helmet, if you do not have one, we will provide your child with a helmet and a pair of skates. We do recommend that your skater bring a pair of gloves and we ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes early to get checked in for the event and to get a proper fitting for the helmet and skates.

What is the next step after Try Hockey for Free?
If your child enjoyed their time trying hockey for free, you have the option to register your child for the Learn to Skate program or our Mite programs with BYHA. However, first you will need to register him/her online at www.USAHockey.com. Once you have received your USA Hockey Number, you will need to register your child on www.beloithockey.com.

What equipment does my child need?
In an opportunity to grow the game of hockey BYHA has a limited amount of new player "starter kits" that will be available to rent on a first come/first serve basis. These kits will include all the equipment your child requires to play hockey (with the exception of skates). BYHA will charge a $50.00 rental fee for this equipment.
