Equipment
One of the first things you’re going to have to do when taking up hockey is get the proper hockey equipment. Due to minor hockey rules children require more equipment than adults, so in this guide I am making a section for hockey equipment for kids, and a section for hockey equipment for adults.
Equipment Checklist:
- Neck Guard
- Helmet with full cage
- Mouth Guard
- Shoulder Pads
- Elbow Pads
- Hockey Gloves
- Jock (or jill for girls)
- Hockey Pants
- Shin pads
- Hockey socks
- Skates
- Jersey for practice
- Hockey stick
- Hockey Equipment bag
Other Recommended Accessories:
- Skate Guards
- Water Bottle
- Stick Tape
- Shin Pad Tape
Where Do I Get Equipment?
Start with used equipment if you're not sure your child will like hockey.
